  • INGREDIENT SWAP

Smoked Beef Brats, cut into coin-size pieces

Directions

  1. In a large saucepan, cook and stir sausage and onion in oil over medium heat until lightly browned; about 5-7 minutes.
  2. Add 1/4 cup beer to deglaze the pan; cook and stir over medium heat until beer is evaporated, about 15 minutes.
  3. Add the pinto beans, black beans, BBQ sauce, molasses and remaining beer.
  4. Bring to a boil; reduce heat to low and simmer for 8 to 10 minutes.

Try em' on the grill

01     Place the sausage directly on the grill grates, turning often to ensure even heating. Cook until the sausages are heated and have grill marks, usually around 8-10 minutes.

02     Cook and stir the onions in oil in a grill-safe skillet until tender. You can place the skillet directly on the grill grates or use a basket.

03     Once the onions are tender, add the cooked sausage to the skillet with beans, tomatoes, thyme, salt, and pepper.

04     Cook and stir the mixture until everything is heated and well combined, usually for another 5-7 minutes on the grill.

05     Serve hot directly from the skillet.
