Directions

  1. In a large saucepan, cook and crumble sausage and beef over medium heat until sausage is browned and the internal temperature is 160°F; about 10 minutes. Drain if desired.
  2. Add the onion, celery and garlic. Cook and stir for 5 minutes or until tender.
  3. Stir in the tomatoes, beans, broth, tomato paste, brown sugar, chili powder, Worcestershire sauce, cumin and red pepper flakes; bring to a boil.
  4. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 20 minutes.
  5. Serve with whatever toppings your little heart desires.

Multi-Cooker Directions

01    In the Multi-Cooker, cook and crumble the sausage in oil on a sauté setting. Add onions and peppers, and cook until the sausage is browned and the vegetables are tender, for about 10 minutes.

02    Add the broth, tomatoes, salt, chilies, and lime juice.

03    Secure the lid on the pot and close the pressure-release valve.

04    Select the manual high-pressure setting for 2 minutes; use quick pressure release to depressurize.

05    Add beans, cover, and let stand for 3-4 minutes.

06   Serve with cheese and chopped green onions, if desired.
